She hissed, and whipped her paw across one of his ears.

This time, Badgerstep docked out of the way before her paw could lash across his ear. HE was far more alert now, probably due to the adrenaline. He bared his fangs in defense- not planning to hurt her, just to warn her that it wasn't good to press the subject. "If you want a new mentor, then fine! Go to Foxstar that. I don't want to have to put up with an apprentice that calls me a liar, and insults the Clan medicine cat. But know there is nothing between me and Moonspirit! You wouldn't even have any proof to say that there was!" The large tom lashed out his tail back and forth.

She hissed at him, and flicked her tail.

"I don't want to loose you as a mentor, but I don't like how you always want to avoid me!" she bared her fangs, while her fur slowly started to puff up, "I always try, and try, but no! What was wrong with me before hand? HUH? Right now I could understand, but back then...?!"

She was easily trying to change the subject. Why? Because NightPaw wanted to lay her plan down in place soon.

Badgerstep saw this change in subject as a way to get out of the previous mess. He felt almost as if he could relax a little, now. "Look," he sighed, "I'm sorry that I haven't been a good mentor to you." That was clear enough if he couldn't even control her temper. "I know I've been ignoring you and you're training. It's just that I've never had an apprentice before, and my own mentor wasn't much help either. I had to teach myself most of what I know, or get the other apprentices to help me out." His claws eased up on the earth. "I suppose I'm not a good cat for the job. But maybe we could start over again? Give it another try, perhaps?"

"Fine," she mewed, hoping that it didn't sound all-to-snooty.

NightPaw knew he had something with MoonSpirit. And now she was going to know. She would keep him so busy-- and when he isn't-- she'll hide and try to see what's going on. She wasn't so stupid. She knew how to do a few things, but she knew very little on being a warrior. Which is another reason why she wants to keep him busy with her.

She suddenly sighed, and looked down, "Sorry, for how I was..."

The corner of Badgerstep's mouth twitched, as if he thought about giving a slight smile, but then had rethought it out of caution. "It's fine," he mewed, sitting down to regain his posture and curling his tail around his paws. "Let's just push on and forget about it, all right? It's over and done with. Now..." Badgerstep looked the little she-cat over, judging the strength of her legs. "How about we try some rabbit hunting? You look like you're more than ready for it. It'll also help you relax."
