Smokewisp padded into the nursery lickinghis sweet Spottedtail. She had given him the best gift a cat had ever given him. A beautiful litter of gorgeous kits that were all healthy and well. He looked at his kits with a gleam of pride. But when he looked over at Smallheart's kits, he felt that there was something wrong. Something not quite natural about the way she tended to them. Like her instincts had never kicked in like she was just going by knowledge. But he would not pry the subject for now. "Hello my dear.", he purred licking each one of his kits over the head.

Prancekit smelled his father and looked up with joy. He hadn't seen his father in a couple of days and it relaxed him to see his father's grey smoky coat next to his mother's.

Smallheart didn't see Smokewhisp look oddly at her, she just was tending to Violetkit who had gotten a thorn in her paw. "Owowow! Momma it hurts! Get Moonspirit! She can help me! She is a medicine cat ya'know momma!" she wailed. Smallheart sighed, "Fine, go to Moonspirit's den." she sent Violetkit off in a limp to the medicine cat's den, then turned to Smokewhisp and gave him a polite smile and turned back to tend to her other kits.
