The tom smiled, and gave a slight purr, nodding afterwards. He licked the black tom, and looked back.

"That sounds lovely, hun."

He purred, and nudged the ginger one softly, hoping not to disturb her.

"QuietKit, maybe? She seems awfully quiet!"

He laughed a bit, and purred.

In Loving Memory

Cedarclaw purred as she too licked the little ginger she-kit. "Yes, that does suit her! Shy little thing." The queen touched her nose to the kit's back, then looked to the third and final kit, the tortoiseshell tom. She had a name in mind, a cleaver one in a way, and she smiled shyly up at Sootclaw when she proposed it.

"I was thinking of naming the tortoiseshell Stonekit. You were saying that I hit a rock, and that was what caused me to loose my memory. If I hadn't done that these kits may not have been born for many more moons. And to be honest, these past moons were probably some of the best I ever lived." Cedarclaw reached back to lick her mate's shoulder, feeling such a bond of love and devotion between them. He was the perfect tom, better than anything she could have asked for. He had been by her all this time and stood strong throughout the memory loss. She wanted to dedicate this tom's name in memory of what she had lost and at the same time gained.

Darkkit felt the lick upon his head by both parents and mewed in protest. It had stopped him from squirming to his mother's milk. His weak little paws moved him closer though. Nothing would get in the way of his milk! He then latched on and felt strength flow into him. Heat came from his sides and fur brushed against his. Littermates were there with him and he felt warmth in that.

The tom gave a slight purr, and then looked at DarkKit with a cheesy grin. He gave the little kit a very soft nudge, only to help him to the tom's stomach, which was full of milk.

He looked back at his new mate, and gave her a lick.

"Lovely."

That was all he said.

"Now, you probably need some sleep."

He purred.

"I'll stay here with you."

So Darling

Cedarclaw purred at Darkkit's struggle to get to the milk, and her mate's little nudge to get him there. A determined little thing, he was. The tortoiseshell queen and nodded, remembering how tired she was. The kits had distracted her from the fact. They were just too wonderful. She found herself stifling a yawn and placing her head where her tail stopped, making a little circle around her three darling kits.

"Yeah, you're right, Sootclaw," she murmured, holding made another yawn as she spoke. Fighting the oncoming sleep, the queen looked back to her mate and smiled. "I love you." And it was one hundred percent true. He was the perfect mate, and the father of her perfect kits. There wasn't a doubt in her mind that it would always remain true. Then Cedarclaw did let one yawn slip, placed her nose to her tail-tip, and fell asleep wrapped around the warmth of her kits.
