NightPaw looked at BadgerStep and sighed. Her head hung low, and nodded.

"Of course," she mewed softly. She didn't want to, she wanted to fight, yes, but then again, she could get hurt. She didn't want that.

She pushed herself up, and walked over to MoonSpirit. About half-way there, she looked over her shoulder to look at the black and white tom. She couldn't help but smile, soon going back to walking over to MoonSpirit.

"BadgerStep said that I gotta help ya," she mewed.

Moonspirit smiled at the young apprentice, she looked to Badgerstep and smiled. Just like him to send an apprentice to help her, especially in her state. She dragged her paws towards the medicine cat den where Clawpaw was watching the meeting. He was almost ready to become a medicine cat. "Nightpaw, this is Clawpaw." she mewed, "She is going to be your apprentice tonight, I want to see how you can handle being incharge of making the poultices for minor scratches, making strength leaflets and getting wounded warriors in here." she purred. "I will make major wound poultices. Nightpaw, your job is to do whatever Clawpaw needs. This inculdes maybe having to collect wounded Warriors and getting them in here, And I mean any wounded Warrior, even if it is a RiverClan. We don't have to treat them but we might as well get them out of our Warriors way." She smiled to Clawpaw, "Do you remember all the remedies?"

NightPaw didn't want to argue, but she had something to say.

"Don't you think RiverClan would take their RiverClan medicine cat? I'm just saying. I mean, it seems dumb if they didn't..."

She looked away, feeling a bit embarrassed. It just seemed like a wise decision to her.

"The reason the war started in the first place started with their medicine cat, if she did come Foxstar would probably kill her." she sighed, "It is how Clawpaw got his scar." she winced when she remembered her apprentice in such pain.

NightPaw just sat there, and couldn't help but snort.

"I doubt that, MoonSpirit. I mean, I heard from elders and queens that MiracleFur was a nice and sweet cat. Plus, wouldn't FireStar know that? Don't you think MiracleFur would hide?"

NightPaw was now questioning her. She had to think. Not only that, she would say anything so she didn't have to grab any other warriors other than WindClan.

"Even if she did its not like she could run from the bushes to get the wounded warriors. And Miraclefur is a good friend of mine, I would feel very guilty if her patients died in my paws. She is a good cat, but sometimes other cats can't see that." she shook her head, "Just do what Clawpaw tells you or go back to Badgerstep." she shook her fur, something about this apprentice made her spine tingle. She felt something roll at her paws and she saw a bright red berry. A Deathberry! She gasped and kicked it away from her paw, Closing her eyes. When she opened them she saw it was actually just a juniper berry. Was it a sign? Or her imagination... She couldn't tell the difference anymore. She sighed, flicking her paw towards the juniper pile and it rolled over. She sighed and padded into her den, her tail dragging behind her.

NightPaw watched her, and her eyes rolled in her sockets. She didn't like this Medicine Cat at all. She didn't know why exactly.

"Whatever. I still think you're wrong."

She barely muttered that, and padded over to ClawPaw, and yawned.

Swiftfire padded after her leader as the meeting ended and she was called for. She didn't have time to feel pleased or anything. This was serious and only the oncoming battle was in her mind, not her naming of being deputy.

She leaped into the den of her leader and mewed a greeting. Swiftfire went up and touched noses with Foxstar and then sat down on her haunches.

Curiosity pricked her pelt as she waited to hear what her leader would say.
