Smallpaw wailed, her head rested on his shoulder for a moment. Quickly, when no one was looking she licked his shoulder breifly, then turned, wiping away her tears with her paw, to Foxstar, maybe she could become a Warrior too? She purred slightly at the thought and padded closer, her eyes wide with hopefulness.
---
Moonspirit purred to herself when Badgerpaw looked at her, she was so glad to see his happiness. She loved him a lot, and was hoping he would enjoy being a Warrior. She knew she never would have.

As her fur brushed with Nightclaw's breifly she couldn't help, but look at him just a bit annoyed and surprised. Why so close? She did need support though, they'd been up a long time and had gone all the way to Riverclan and back. The she-cat barely leaned on him. Just a friendly way, no way in Dark Forest was she trying to be lovey dovey.
Swiftfire stared at the cat who talked back to her. She merely blinked and was about to say something when Foxstar came back out in all her glory. Her leader told them all that it was time to name a new warrior. Finally! At least she's keeping that tradition, she thought. Her green eyes looked up at her leader filled with no hope and a little outrage, but mostly defiance. If Foxstar said something she really didn't like she'd lose it for sure. Dang, she could be such a spitfire when she wanted to be.
Moonsight padded into camp, dejectedly, Mosspelt following quietlly behind. He had promised Foxstar he would return and here he was. He would never back out on a promise. His brown eyes took in the scene before him, finally noticing the dead deputy. Instantly a cold wall settled around his heart. He hadn't been there, he was supposed to protect and he hadn't.
"Oh no." Mosspelt's quiet sigh came from beside him. "I'm going to find out what happened." With that she padded over to the edge of the group before pausing and backing up a few paces and sitting down.
Moonsight stood where he was, still numb. No matter what his instincts were screaming at him. The same thing still vibrated throughout his body.
The leader still stood there proudly, with her muzzle up in the air. She did notice MoonSight, soon breaking that trance and looking right at him. She stood still there for a few moments, already sensing how disappointed he was with her.
Sorry, Sorry, Sorry! I...I...
She shook her head a bit, and knew there were glares up at her. She knew she was doing a horrible job, but she didn't care anymore. She looked back up at the sky.
"SmallPaw come forth."
She mew'd, not saying BadgerPaw just yet. He can be for last, she wanted to see how he would react, not only that, that would leave it easier to speak with him later on.
Badgerpaw had been just about to march himself up with his chin held high and his chest puffed out to receive his name at last, when Foxstar seemed to slide her claws right across his throat. What?" His own claws slipped out into the earth in furry and horror. What was she doing? Surely his leader hadn't forgotten the deal they'd made, the agreement he'd signed with conflict in his heart. Relax. Maybe she's just letting Smallpaw go first. We've both had our apprentice names for a really long time, after all. The black and white tom tried to convince himself that this was the truth, but his claws sank lower and lower into the earth. He watched Foxstar and the she-cat apprentice with cold amber eyes, holding onto that last thread of hope he had before he would just yowl up to StarClan for his proper rank.
Smallpaw gasped in joy and bounded up. She stood tall and proud, looking from a distance a proper warrior, but up close you could see the youth and energy in her eyes. Her paws itched to say I do, her chest was puffed up and she was smiling.
Ashstorm sighed as she sat down. Just more depressing clan news, she supposed. She licked some of the scratches on her sleek silver forelegs. They soon disappeared, melding back in. Her blue eyes looked up at Foxstar.
Cedarclaw sat quietly nearby, raising a brow at the matters at hand. Foxstar sure liked to keep the Clan guessing, it seemed. But she shrugged it off. The tortoiseshell instead turned her attention to her belly, which had begun to grow. To all who hadn't know, it was obvious now that she was expecting kits. The queen licked her belly fondly. She couldn't wait to see her kits. I wonder how many I'll have? Maybe two or three. But it doesn't matter, just so long as their healthy. The she-cat purred softly to herself, trying to imagine the little bodies inside her.
While FoxStar was taking her moments thinking over what name to give to SmallPaw, Myxa slipped out of the shadows by AshStorm.
"Hey!"
He squeaked with a purr, ignoring FoxStar's next words.
-
FoxStar, the new leader of WindClan, who thinks that she will become great now, is deciding to speak. She was thinking for a few moments, before moving on. She didn't want to give her the wrong name at all.
She then spoke.
"I, FoxStar, Leader of WindClan, Call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you in her turn. SmallPaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your clan even at the cost of your life?"
She stood there, looking down on the apprentice. She could actually see her excitement. She loved seeing that on a cat, but she held all her emotions in at the moment. She was not only thinking about the warrior name for her, but whom to take with her to the MoonStone to get her nine lives, and whom to keep in charge while she was gone.
Moonsight watched the ceremony silently, he would never admitt that he no longer trusted Starclan. If the others wished to put trust in something that didn't keep promises then it was their problem.
For a moment he wondered what Wavestar would have done if he were in Foxstar's place, and for once, Moonsight realized he didn't know what Wavestar would have done. It was kind of a depressing thought.
Sighing he got up and padded over to where Mosspelt sat alone near the edge of the cats. She looked devasted, but he couldn't tell what about. Maybe it was about everything that had happened, or may because she was finally starting to realize she didn't fit in anymore.
Licking his shoulder lightly Moonsight finally looked back up at Foxstar, wondering when she would finally manage to corner him and talk to him. In the meantime, he had a decision to make and he didn't like the choices he had.
The noble she-cat couldn't help but let out a grin. She loved her optimisim, which will make her a great warrior, she knew that for a fact.
She stared down at her, and said the words rather clearly, how it was done in the tradition;
"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. SmallPaw, from this moment on you will be known as SmallHeart. StarClan honors your optimism and your confidence and we welcome you as a full warrior of WindClan!"
She hopped down, and rested her muzzle upon SmallHeart's head, waiting for the next part that is part of the tradition, her licking her shoulder respectfully.
-
SootClaw wrinkled his nose, not feeling comfortable.
Seeing her mate a little ways off, Cedarclaw rose to her paws and padded over to where he sat. She had to take it easy with the size of her belly, as it was getting heavy and what she feared most was harm to their unborn little bodies. The face that she couldn't remember her past was no longer a thing of priority in her mind. "Hello, love," she mewed, brushing her pelt against his. "Are you alright? You seem agitated."
Swiftfire looked onto the tradition. She was happy that Small'heart' had gotten her name, but wasn't Foxstar contradicting herself?
Her tail beat the ground softly as she waited for the next apprentice to be named.
Thump, thump, thump....
Shouldn't Starclan be showing a sign by now? Her eyes fluttered to Moonsight. He looked very thoughtful and maybe a bit hurt?! What was that yail that Foxstar had uttered before the attack at Riverclan. Did Moonspirit play a role in it? If so what?
Thump, thump, thump...
Her tail beat to the rhythm of confusion spreading throughout the moor at every minute, like the hearts, whispers, and minds of all the clan.
