NeedleHeart was limping, her back leg not even touching the ground. Every move she made made her face cringe.

She hoped that Ice kept thinking about the thing she said, but she was also hoping that MiracleFur would help her. Her leg was sprained most likely, and NeedleHeart knew nothing about Medicine.

All These Thoughts

Ice had followed Needleheart, padding behind her, oddly quiet as he thought it over. He was confused, not completely understanding what she had been telling him, but trying all the same. His blue eyes darted toward the nursery, where he assumed Moonlight was, to Needleheart, and then the medicine cat's den. Needleheart had said that she wasn't on good terms with RiverClan, but surely they would help her all the same?

They Make No Sense

She padded slowly over to the Medicine Cat's den, and stood there. Her eyes zoomed over the camp, and sighed. She expected to soon be attacked, or swarmed by cats.

"..Ice. Stay close.. I don't know how they are going to react.."

She whispered to him.

Firestar spotted Needleheart, she raced over and eyed the she-cat furiously. "How dare you return Needleheart? After what you did?" she snarled. "Ice, Go find Moonlight." she ordered. "Needleheart? What are you doing here?" she asked, growl in her voice but unmistakably calmer.

I Make

Ice either ignored the command or hadn't heard it at all. "Firestar, she fell in the river and hurt her leg! She needs help." His little claws worked at the ground as he looked up at Firestar. He still had no idea what Needleheart could have done that would make RiverClan hate her, but the kit didn't really care.

She sneered coldy.

She heard Miraclefur fuss around in the Medicine Cat's den, which made her whiskers quiver.

"I was lucky that Ice was there, actually."

Ice smiled, glancing up at Needleheart. Pride rose in his chest as he flicked his tail. Her sneer had bothered him a bit when he had seen it, but not enough to make his faith in her waiver.

"Ice, I can deal with her now, get back to the Nursery!" she ordered again. She turned back to Needleheart, "Why did you come back then Needleheart? Why not go to ThunderClan, or WindClan?" she asked.

The kit wanted to protest, but he bit back his tongue. Tail and ears drooping, the tom turned about and padded back towards the nursery. But once there, he stopped just outside the entrance so that he could still watch was going on.

"Let the kit stay, he is causing no harm."

She stood there, cramps soon getting in all her legs.

"It's called, being on your territory, and being closer here! I need help, FireStar!"

She hissed. She was getting a bit paranoid.

"I want Ice to acompany me though!"

Ice smiled tentatively from his place at the nursery. He didn't want to just sit there like some grounded kit, even though that was what he was. He looked to Firestar, shy hope in his blue eyes as he waited to hear her answer.

She looked back at Ice, gave him a sly smile, but then looked back at FireStar. She stood there, soon seeing MiracleFur come out.

"Oh my goodness, What happened, Needleheart?!"

"Let Ice explain."

She smiled, her tail tip flicking, telling Ice to follow.

Ice's smile broadened as his name was called. The kit quickly bounded back over to the small group of she-cats and stood beside Needleheart.

"Well, I got bored, so I wanted to go see the river again. I was getting close when I saw a cat from a different Clan on the other side, and Needleheart falling in. I ran over really fast, and then Needleheart pulled herself out. But I think she caught her leg on something, cause when she came out it was all scratched up and hurt." He glanced over to it quickly, indicating the hurt leg. He was about to go on, but something kept his mouth shut. He had the feeling that he wasn't supposed to talk about what she had said.

MiracleFur's face grimaced, but she shook it away.

"O-Okay then. Come on, get in the den. Ice, can you fix up a small moss nest for her, please?"

She looked at FireStar, and soon padded in. She had to make sure she had the supplies.

Firestar nodded, "Fine, but after Ice makes a bed I want him back in the Nursery where kits belong. You don't need a RiverClan kit to make you feel better Needleheart, and I wouldn't risk him alone with you." she decided. Needleheart gave most of her life to this clan, the least we can do is treat her leg. she thought to herself.
