Striped Reeds (Stripedleaf ONLY)

Reedpelt watched his reflection softly, he was dozing on his paws, is that possible? He had been fishing for hours, but fish had been so scarce in these waters. His eyes blinked slowly, rocking on his paws.

Stripedleaf had been a little farther down the river when she found a big juicy looking fish swimming about lazily in the water. She crept closer fishing the prey out of the water and watching it fly through the air until it hit Reedpelt. She ran over the kill the fish quickly making sure it would not make a dive back into the river.

Reedpelt was literally slapped back into reality, to see this dazzling beautiful she-cat coming for him. He whipped his head towards the fish that had hit him and dug his teeth into it intently. His head shot up and smiled with the fish still in his mouth. "Hhwigh." he mewed with the fish in his mouth.

Stripedleaf narrowed her eyes and gave the tom a swat on the nose. "That is my fish.", she frowned watching him slobber all over it. She was not happy that her prey was being drooled on.

Reedpelt dodged the swat and dropped the fish at her paws. "Sorry, I uh... No one would ever want to see those beautiful paws get dirty or... bloody." he stammered. " He smiled and shrugged. "They hit very hard..." he rubbed the side of his face where a small scratch could be seen.

Stripedleaf wrinkled her nose and gave a slight growl. "Sorry.", she mewed licking the spot where she had scratched him. Mean was her default setting and sometimes it couldn't be helped. She gave a shrug and when the wound was clean she began to lick her own chest.

Reedpelt sat down too and licked his paw, "So, perhaps I can make it up to you by catching you a big fish downstream." He asked, looking at his paws and smiling. His smile soft and barely detectable. He liked this she-cat's boldness, maybe if he played it right he could learn to be bold like her.
