Leopardclaw was getting old, he was nearing the end of the prime of his life by now and he felt the age start to press on him. He was still in excellent shape for a cat his age but he felt the time of his life was starting to take its toll. And now he was doing a simple border patrol. He had lived long enough to sire three litters. Two with Firestar and one with Bia who he hadn't seen since they had mated. Even though he was a most loyal companion to Firestar he had made some mistakes before he had met her. He had remembered the vivid visions Starclan had given him that helped him finally realize that Firestar was the one. He purred with great joy and inhaled a deep breath. But when the air he had just sucked in hit his scent receptors something in it was off. The smell of something that was not Riverclan. The foreign yet familiar reek filled his nose and he choked on its wretched smell. SHADOWCLAN

Emberheart walked across the land, not thinking about where she was going. She was having one of her moments where her past overwhelmed her thought and she wondered aimlessly, not realizing that she crossed the boarder and was now in Riverlcan. She sighed, stopping to mop, her body finally starting to give out. Her legs were weak and she was very thin and looked as sick as she was. She had let her body weaken to the point that she could no longer eat food and was now just wanting to get away from her clan to die alone.

Leopardclaw felt off today. He was unusually grumpy and his moods were changing from ok to angry is quick flashes. He felt dizzy and confusion clouded his eyes. He let his nose lead him to the scent that had burned his nose. "What are you doing here?", he snarled. Something had set him off and this poor unfortunate cat was to blame. He felt his anger pulse through his veins and his claws slid out. He had been a violent sort before he had found Fireleaf. He had stayed to himself always angry about the past or the present. It had all gone away when he met Fireleaf, but now that he was not with her he was going to insane with all of the anger he had held in. He gave out a deep rumbling growl just staring at the she-cat not sure how to approach.

Emberheart looked at the cat growling at her, not having the strength to get away or fight. "What is the matter? You going mad from being part of your clan?" She watched him, not worried since if he killed her, it would make it easier for her to join her mate. "Sorry but i your looking for a battle, you won't find one here. As you can see, I am dying so just leave me be and I will leave you alone as well."

Leopardclaw frowned. He just didn't have it in him anymore and he wasn't about to kill a defenseless cat. "You too eh.", He frowned. He could feel it in his heart. He was dying and there was nothing he could do to save himself. It was his time and no one could fight the nature of time.

"Yes... I lost my mate and kits and lost the will to do anything..... so... here I am." Emberheart stated, sitting down, watching the tom, "What happened to you?" She knew it was a bad idea to talk but this tom seemed to have lost the feeling to attack her though she wouldn't have mind being killed since it was less painful then starving her self the way she had. "Think you could do me favor? I think I have enough strength to return it should you wish to hear it."

Leopardclaw frowned. "I am just dying. I have a wonderful mate and two litters of full grown kits. But I have to leave now.", he sighed. "What is your favor?", he growled still trying to act tough. He sat down trying not to let his wheezy cough rattle ion his throat.

"Well, my favor is give me a killing blow something that will end this faster, starving is quite painful and I should have just enough to strike you back. That way if anyone finds us, they will think I killed you or whatever. I don't know how your clan works but I doubt mine will notice," Emberheart muttered, breathing very quickly since she was hoping he would agree. She is in a lot of pain but she knew death was the best option now, even if she recovered, she would likely suffer for the rest of her life. Dying seemed.... better, more peaceful and that's all she wanted. Peace of mind and to see her mate and kits again.

Leopardclaw shook his head in disagreement. "Come with me I have a faster painless way.", he sighed, ready to die. He led the she-cat to the river where they could both drown not a one of them in pain or all bloodied up when they made the journey to Starclan. "It is painless, and neither one of us will have murder on our hands.", he mewed, sorrow in his voice. He had had a great life full of happiness and he was reluctant to leave it, but he knew Starclan was awaiting him.
