You Don't Remember Me

Ice poked his head into the RiverClan apprentice den, his blue eyes looking around for the other apprentices he was going to train with. Now that Firestar had granted him permission to join RiverClan he was eager to jump right in and meet the cats he'd be calling Clanmates. Besides, there was a certain Rosepaw he'd need to talk to- Moonlight's kit who had run back to RiverClan after refusing loner life. He had a message to deliver to her from her sister.

The little she-cat was laying in her nest, that was rather neatly made. She was tossing and turning, a terrible dream forsaking her mind.

"I hate you! I wish you would die, RosePaw!"

A familar voice thundered, showing down on the little apprentice. The apprentice was staring right up at her mother, with her brothers and sisters grinning down at her.

"Die!"

Then all at once, they attacked, launched their powerful bodies at her. Claws tore at her beautiful white and cream-colored fur, making dark red flood over it. Then, she yowled, and broke lose, running for her life.

She had her eyes shut tight, not bothering to look where she was going. All she knew was that she was terrified, and she was wanting to go back home, to RiverClan camp.

Then, she felt nothing under her paws. When she openned her eyes, she saw that she was falling down the gorge, that's when she woke.

RosePaw jerked awake with a squeal, and when she sat up, she was panting heavily. She was snuffling her fur all over, making sure there were no scratches, no harm, and thankfully, there wasn't. She had an odd scent go into her scent glands, and she rose her head.

"Hello?"

RosePaw asked.

Awake And Alive

The sound of squeals and movement made Ice's head swerve toward the source of it all. He could see a she-cat in her nest, thrashing as if she was having a fit. It almost made him take a step back in fear with the question if he should go get Miraclefur. But her frightening sounds suddenly subsided, and the tom saw her begin to look herself over. His heartbeat slowed. It had just been a nightmare. Twitching his whiskers, the young tom made his way over to her. "Um, hey. Are you alright?" he asked, wondering how she would react to an unfamiliar face.

RosePaw dabbed at her nest a bit, and shrugged a bit.

"I'm fine, it's just, I had to leave my family. They made me leave here, and I felt as if they hated me. I still do, I wish I knew the truth. I had to have a ThunderClan cat help me back here, for I was only a kit..."

She sighed slowly, but then looked at Ice, then looked back down. She didn't know how to feel at the moment, but embarrassed. A tom just saw her freaking out, and that isn't always a good thing.

Whats Written On My Heart

Her words sparked his memory, and the pale tabby moved away from the subject of her dream. "Wait, you... Is your name Rosepaw?" He cocked his head a little, trying to find the resemblance between this she-cat and his adopted mother. "Well, first, my name's Ice. A queen named Moonlight raised me here before I, um, had to leave for a little bit. I just came back from seeing her and her new kits by the gorge." He blinked. "Are you that Rosepaw Lily was talking about? I heard there was more than one."

The she-cat blinked slowly, and she looked downwards.

"Um, ya. So you are Ice?"

Her tail tip flicked once, trying to push away her rude thoughts away. She wanted to say it was his fault, but at the same time, she didn't.

She looked up, and then sighed.

"I think I hate my family, I think I do. They wouldn't let me decide on what to do, so I just ran and ran..."

She closed her eyes, and sighed in deeply.

One Sided

He was only half surprised that she knew him. Moonlight's other kits had. Apparently she'd spoken of him. But something it this she-cat's face made him think they hadn't all been good things. "Yeah, that's me," he mewed, not knowing what else to say. But the next thing she said made his eyes narrow in confusion. "Huh? What, they don't hate you!" His ears stood tall. How could she think that? "They were all worried and asking about you. Lily especially- she really missed you." Ice sat down near her nest, guessing he might as well.

((ooc: Well, they're kind of like step-siblings, so a crush relationship would be kind of awkward... xP ))

RosePaw's ears flickered with surprise.

"How can I believe that? They seemed as if they hated me."

Which wasn't true, she only thought that now, because of her terrible dreams. She kept dreaming of her family trying to slaughter her for leaving, trying to slaughter her for everything. All she could do was believe it.

How Could This Be?

Ice frowned. "That doesn't sound right. None of them said anything about you except that they missed you." The young tom felt bad for bringing it up. But on the other hand, how could she think they hated her? "I know Moonlight, and I could never see her hating anybody." The tom looked away from the she-cat. He had thought that it would be nice to have one of Moonlight's real kits in the Clan with him, but he was sure Moonlight would like to have her back as well.

The she-cat shrugged a bit, and looked away. She was thinking things over, but the same result kept popping up. They must hate her, that just had to be it.

"Fine. If they don't, I'll go see them, if it will make you happy!"

She hissed, but not directly at him, mostly at herself.

Pain Of Past

Ice wrinkled his nose. She sure was prickly. Could she really be sweet old Moonlight's kit? "You don't have to do anything to make me happy. I just promised Lily I'd pass on the message." The little tom shrugged. "And by all means go see them- they're living in tunnels near the gorge. But you don't have to if you're just going to yowl at them."

She sighed, and shook her head.

"No. Let's go. Let's go now."

She concluded, soon shifting herself up.

"Show me. I don't think I'll be able to get any sleep anyways, until we solve this."

She muttered, mostly to herself.

Back To The Beginning

Ice looked at her for a moment, wondering to himself if bringing her to her old family would be a good idea, but deciding in the end that she had a right to see her own parents and siblings. They weren't even his kin by blood. The young tom twitched his whiskers, then nodded. "Okay, then, follow me. They're not too far away." The pale tabby flicked his tail for the she-cat apprentice to follow him, then turned to head out.

The she-cat sat there for many moments, watching him pad out. It was true, her nightmares won't stop until she saw her kin. She knew that. She then sighed, soon getting up.

RosePaw followed him, padding slowly, hoping not to wake anyone at all. After padding out, she dashed to Ice, trying to catch up.
