Fresh Beginning(Hazelthorn and Dappledfrost)

Redfeather layed down in a grassy spot inside camp and looked around. She smiled and stared up at the sky. She noticed that to her the sky seemed to swirl a little and grow bigger. She blinked and tilted her head, it still swirled. She then felt some pain in her belly. She gritted her teeth and let out a great yowl. She closed her eyes tight and let out another yowl. Are they coming? Why right now though! Redfeather thought painfully, she wondered where Hazlethorn was and if he would come soon to help her.

Hazelthorn was eating some food when he heard a yelp that sounded very familiar. "Redfeather" He meowed and then ran in the direction of the yelp.

Redfeather saw Hazlethorn coming and looked up at him, the pain showing in her eyes. "Its the kits." Redfeather said as softly as she could.

CowSpot heard the yelps, which made him alert. He ran after the yelp, which lead him to RedFeather. His eyes went wide.

"I-I got to go get DappledFrost at the gathering!"

He yelped, and ran to the gathering.

CowSpot had returned, and looked at RedFeather.

"S-She's coming!"

Dappledfrost burst into the clearing, coming straight over to where Redfeather lay, but remembering to slow her pace as she approuched. She didn't want to startle the queen, as they could lead to disaster. Once by her side, the medicine cat placed her paw gently on the she-cat's flank. A spasm was coming, judging by the way the pulses were getting faster and stronger. "You're going to be fine, Redfeather. But get ready to push when the pain comes."

Redfeather nodded and gritted her teeth. She waited for the pain to come. She felt it and she yowled and pushed as hard as she could.

"There you go, Redfeather! That's it... One down." Dappledfrost nipped the kit's sac, allowing it to tumble out. "Cowspot, start licking it's fur the wrong way. That will warm it up and get it breathing." She then turned back to Redfeather, again placing her paw on the she-cat's flank in preparation for another kit.

CowSpot watched DappledFrost, and nodded when she told him to lick it's fur the wrong way. He licked the first kit, going the wrong way like she said.

Redfeather waited again. She turned around to look at her new small kit, starting to mewl. She turned her head back around to look at Dappledleaf. She felt it again. She pushed hard and gritted her teeth once more. The pain quickly left and she saw a slimy little ball come out. She smiled and waited for Dappledleaf to rip open the birth sack. She noticed blood around the area and she sighed. I didn't know this was going to happen, but yet, it is a lovely sight to see kits.

Dappledfrost smiled at Redfeather, then bent down to nip the kit sac open. The second kit followed it's sibling by tumbling out into the world. She licked it over quickly, made sure it was breathing, and nudged the kit over to Cowspot so that it was pressed against the firstborn for warmth. She turned back to Redfeather. She didn't know how many more were to come. "How's the pain, Redfeather?" she asked calmly.

CowSpot saw the other kit, and started to lick that one as well, in the opposite direction. His gaze was at DappledFrost, wondering how many were to come.

His gaze shifted to the kit he was licking, and licked the other a few times, to make sure it was getting warm. He licked the one he was licking not to long ago, to make sure that one was warm as well.

Hazelthorn was kind of insulted when the kit wasnt handed to him but he shook it off and looked at Redfeather. "are you okay?" He asked feeling sort of helpless.

Cowspot blinked, and looked at HazelThorn. Pain surged through his body, picking up one of the kits, placing it infront of him.

He Shrunk a bit, before licking the kit he left in the opposite direction.

"I am ok, I think I still have one more." Redfeather said panting. She searched for the next urge to push. She found it and pushed, as hard as she could, she wanted this kit as well. A little kit tumbled out and she laid her head down. "I think that is it."

Dappledfrost nipped the kit sac, and then nudged it gently over to where it's mother could lick it. She had already accidently annoyed Hazelthorn, and she didn't want to annoy a queen who had just given birth. "Congratulations, Redfeather. You now have three wonderful kits."
