Riddlehawk sighed. He reached over and before little Icepaw could move out of the way he lifted him up by the scruff. Icepaw was easily a good six inches up off the ground. He murmered through a mouthful of fur, "Don't try and fidget. It'll only hurt you worse." He darted back towards camp, being extremly careful not to jostle the little tom too much.

The tom's advise didn't seem to reach Icepaw's ears. Instead, he immediately began to attempt escape as soon as he felt jaws close around him. Panic flared up in his chest and caused him to go into hyperventilation. "No! You can't! Put me down!" But as he tried to wriggle free of the hold, the young apprentice accidently threw his good forepaw into the one that had been injured. He let out a small gasp of pain but held in another shriek. It was obvious that he wouldn't get anywhere now. But all the same, he dreaded every step Riddlehawk made deeper into ThunderClan territory.
