Shadowpaw's stubborn stay

RiddleKit was watching from afar. He was waiting to make his approach. He didn't want to scare them at all, and he wasn't sure when he would be an apprentice. He sure hoped it was soon, because then he could hang out with ShadowPaw and SkyPaw.

He did understand that SkyPaw wanted to be left alone, but the least that he could do is at least either be nice back or show a bit of "respect", maybe a "thank you" would make him go away. He didn't know, but he would always be nice. At least, to him.

He took a few steps forward, hoping that his larger size wouldn't give him away. Although, the two toms seemed to be preoccupied on the sky and mindless chatter. He felt out of place when he heard the word warrior, because he didn't care much for that. He wanted to be an apprentice, nothing more right now.

He slowly blinked his eyes, and soon crouched down. He wasn't sure if he should say a word. He wanted to, but what if he got yelled at again? He hated that.

"H-Hello," he mewed a bit shyly. Sure, he knew them both, but he was nervous due to their conversation. He didn't fit in with it, not one bit.

Well Skypaw didn't see it that way. His smile was nothing but friendly and open. "Hey Riddlekit." He meowed cheerfully, looking his way and nodding. "Would you like some fresh-kill, there's enough to go around." He offered, nudging the mouse closer to the kit. Even though Riddlekit wasn't there age or anything, he enjoyed the tom's company. If Skypaw had any enemy, it would be a surprise, this tom was hard to not like.

RiddleKit smiled at SkyPaw. He knew that this tom would of been nice, but he wasn't so sure with the white tom. ShadowPaw was always mean.

He walked on over, and purred softly, grabbing the mouse gently. It looked quite big. At least, to him it did. He was still a kit, but that doesn't mean he didn't have a stomach like an apprentice or warrior. Although, he decided to show manners, and not eat that much and be a pig.

He slowly reached down and took a bite, which looked rather small. He couldn't help but savor the flavor. He loved mice with a passion. After eating that small bite, he looked up at Skypaw, and continued to use his manners.

"Thanks, SkyPaw," he mewed nicely, smiling afterward, "It's good. ShadowPaw, did you try it?"

Ah, he might of blew it right there, trying to have a nice conversation with ShadowPaw once more. He didn't care though.

Shadowpaw looked at the cat before sighing, he looked away, munching away at his mouse, "Why do you keep bugging. I just want to be left alone," Shadowpaw stated, looking back at the kit, his ears standing straight up, his tail lashing at best it could with it being bound. "It is so hard to leave me alone?" He couldn't understand the reason behind the kit's stubbornness with bugging him. "Just leave me alone....." He sighed before going back to eating his food and ignoring the world as best as he could.

RiddleKit left the rest of the mouse there, but only for a moment, for he was getting irked off. He didn't get angry easily, but ShadowPaw knew how to do that. Yet, he still liked him as a friend. He just needed to crack his shell.

He stepped over towards ShadowPaw, and laid himself in front of him. He stared at his face, while the very tip of his tail flicked side to side. It was obvious that he was annoyed with him. Who wouldn't?

"ShadowPaw! We don't want to leave you alone. Why?" he growled, and continued with what he was saying, "Because we worry. It may not look like it, but we do. You are hurt, and we care. We want you to feel better. You seem so prickly and touchy, but you know, we want to get to know you. We like you. We want to be your friend, wither you like it or not!"

He spat that out, and went back to his mouse, taking more furious bites.

Shadowpaw growled, like I care, He wanted nothing to do with the cat or annoying Skypaw, all they did was bug him. If they really cared then they would leave him alone and let him rest. not spending every waking hour of their day with him. He can't sleep or even try to relax with someone watching him yet they don't seem to see that issue. He was a loner and yet he was being baby sat but a group of cats that didn't seem to understand him at all.

Skypaw watched this, his smile slowly slipping. He decided maybe he should distract Riddlekit, because when he and Shadowpaw talked, they both became irritated and angry. He rose to his paws, looking to the young tom. "Hey Riddlekit, would you like to come with me? I need your help with something." He said easily, a smile back on his face as he nudged the kit to come with him.

RiddleKit looked up at SkyPaw, and just narrowed his eyes. Why would anyone need his help? He was a kit.

"Ask another apprentice, or even a warrior, I'm just a kit," he said slowly, looking down at his now torn apart carcass that was once a mouse, "Why would you need my help?"

His tail tip twitched awkwardly, soon thinking that this may be a distraction. He blinked, and looked back up at SkyPaw, and then at ShadowPaw.

"By the way, ShadowPaw, sorry..." he knew it didn't matter. He should of kept his cool, but how could he have?

Shadowpaw sighed before getting up, grabbing the remains of his mouse and heading back in the den, needing some alone time that he rarely got. He settled down in his nest, finishing his mouse before plotting his escape plan. Now all I need is some actual alone time and I can get out of this camp....... please leave me alone.

"Come on Riddlekit, you're plenty helpful! I'd rather have you help me than anyone else." Skypaw said nicely, smiling so brightly it was hard not to smile back. His tail tapped the kits shoulder, nodding for him to come with him. "We can have some fun, you'll see."

Shadowpaw listened, smiling since he realized that since Skypaw was going to cheer the kit up, he could sneak off and be alone. "Great~" Shadowpaw made his way again though the ferns that surrounded the den, breaking into the forest, taking a deep breath, smiling. He made his way through the trees before coming to his hollow in a tree that he used for his den, it wasn't far from the camp but it was far enough well hidden so he was able to hide there when he needed to. He walked closer before freezing in his track, sniffing the air, realizing that something was off.

RiddleKit's eyes narrowed a bit. Mostly in confusion. He sighed a bit, and heaved himself on his paws. He glanced at SkyPaw, and muttered to himself.

"Alright, let's go then," he mewed, looking down at his paws. He would usually bounce right up to do so, but he seemed like he was out of place with certain things. I mean, he felt uncomfortable.

He looked back at SkyPaw, and gave him a fake smile.

Sjypaw padded out with the little tom, then turned to face him frowning. "Something wrong Riddlekit? You usually want to hang out with me. Did Shadowpaw get you down in the dumps?" He cocked his head as his tail twitched. "Don't let him ruin your good time, that's just the way he is sometimes."

A small wind blew towards Shadowpaw, downwind of the tree, filling his senses with the scent of fox, his fur standing on end as he realized just how much trouble he was in. He watched the tree as he began to back away, trying to move quickly and quietly without alarming the fox to his presence. SH1T!!!! Shadowpaw froze when he heard rustling behind him, slowing turning his white head towards the sound, a large fox appearing with a squirrel in it's jaw. He stared at it as the fox returned the stare before dropping the prey and growling loudly, Shadowpaw hissing back, trying to think of a way to lose the fox with his slight immobility. What am I going to do, I am really trapped, I can't run and climb up a tree without my tail and it's in the splint.... He growled loudly as the fox started to walk towards him, Shadowpaw jumping when another came out of the den, ANOTHER ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shadowpaw's fur was fully fluffed, making him appear for like the size he should have been as both foxes closed in around him, the small white cat beginning to shiver in both fear and worry. Hoping he would think of something before he was killed, dodging one of the foxes at it lunged for him the other bowling into him Shadowpaw yowling as he tried to push the animal off so he could run and hope to lose them in the safety of a tree, hoping they couldn't climb.

Skypaw's ears perked up at the sound of a howl and he recognized it immedietely. He had heard that same howl when Shadowpaw had fallen from the tree. It sounded like was in trouble. Skypaw looked around and when he didn't see him, he figured he had snuck off and gotten into trouble.

He couldn't let Riddlekit follow him, so he quickly thought of what he could do. "Riddlekit, find help!" He said urgently before dashing off towards the direction the sound had come from. It didn't take him long before he came across Shadowpaw and the two foxes.

"Hold on Shadowpaw!" He called, bowling into the fox on him and the two went rolling in a tumble of calico and red fur. He hissed, using his quickness to avoid it jaws and get back to his paws.
