RunningPath had padded up towards the Fresh-kill pile, and grabbed a small skinny mouse. She figured that was best, since she wasn't all that hungry.

The black she-cat padded towards a pile of dust, small amount, but it was still dust. She laid in it, and started to gnaw on the dead rodent.

Her ears flicked.

Why? Why did he have to go? Why, StarClan? StarPaw belongs here....

Shadow padded from the nursery. She slowly padded to Runningpath, sitting beside her. "You should eat more then that-your kits need you now." she said, "Are you OK?"

RunningPath looked at Shadow.

"ThunderClan took StarPaw away."

She said it with rage gritting her teeth.

"I want him back, but it is the will of StarClan."

She looked at the mouse, and flung it out in the clearing.

"Sure, kits need me, but they're apprentices now, it doesn't matter. Not like I'm nursing them anymore."

"They still need a mother, when I was their age my parents were killed-I thought I was big enough to survive on my own- I left the forest and I struggled. No matter how old they get-no cat can watch their parents suffer." she said. "Starpaw will be fine. ThunderClan will take care o them and he will always think of you as his mother.

RunningPath gave out a snarl.

"I don't trust ThunderClan. They might torture him.. I want to rush in and steal him. He always watched the younger ones, and he was so patient.."

She looked at her paws, glaring at them.

"How do you know if he will think of me as his mother? He will probably find a new one."

"You are thinking the worst. ThunderClan does not look like the kind of cats that torture! Tanglestar even said she already had two apprentices with ShadowClan blood. And you will see him again-its not a goodbye." she was calm and gentile on Runningpath-she must feel terrible.

RunningPath stared at Shadow with cold eyes. For once, RunningPath was being cold-hearted.

"StarPaw will probably stay at ThunderClan. He probably won't even think about his.. mother, me, or his.. siblings."

She shook her head, and spat.

"I am going to get him back. I will rampage in ThunderClan's camp if I have to."

She stood up, staring around the camp.

"I might die, but I want StarPaw back here, to watch over the kits, since I can't do that all the time. He was their guardian."

She let out a deep growl.

Tigerfang heard the comotion and padded over to the two she-cats. He though about how much Runningpath would be missing starpaw. He sat down next to Shadow. Tigerfang liked seeing the kits play, he thought about what she was saying "Runningpath I know you miss Starkit and you most likly miss him more than all of us do but StarClan has choosen his path to go to Thunderclan but that doesn't mean he won;t come back" mewed Tigerfang trying to comfort her. Today had been one of his good days, on any other day he would try to get out to kill some kittypets that wandeed to far from home.

Shadow was annoyed every cat in the clan had to come, cramping space was not going to make Runningpath better. "Don't you have a patrol to go to?" she asked slyly.

Tigerfang looked to shadow, he wasn't to fond of her joinning the clan "Shadowfang has already sent me for dawn partol" he mewed. Igrnorring her anoyance of his presence.

"Yes, like any cat would be up prowling at dawn." she yawned-she was not fond of Tigerfang, after she had seen him in battle. "What a dangerous job." she shrugged and looked at him sternly. "I didn't know you spent your free time mooning over queens!"

"mabey its because I like to see th young kits playing" he mewed back, it was true he did like seeing the kits play pretend.

"The kits are sleeping now, so why don't you go do the same." she shrugged, "You have a big dawn patrol tonight anyway."

"not tonight" he mewed to lying down his tail moving from side to side.
