Shadow was picking around the ol' Carrion mound. Wishing she could see Dirtfur one last time so she could ask those faithful five words... Did you ever love me? That was all she wanted to know. She jumped from shiny metal object to another to avoid the nauseating gunk of slime. But her mind was filled with Dirtfur, she still had strong feelings for him, but they were now mixed with anger and betrayal so she couldn't even think straight.

RunningPath was in the shadows, her turquoise eyes glowing. She knew there was some cat in the territory, yet, all of this awful stench was blocking her senses.

She suddenly leaped at Shadow, claws ablaze. She hoped she had a spot on her back, but soon noticed whom it was.

She got off of her, and sat beside the she-cat.

"Shadow...heart? Why are you back?" she asked.

Shadow shrieked and fell flat on her face. When she saw it was Runningpath she smiled. "I, I wanted to see Dirtfur." She sighed, shuffling her paws a bit. "Or maybe one of my kits. I dunno, it was stupid." she sighed, "I'm glad I found you though. I missed you, I missed everyone..."

RunningPath bonked her playfully against the noggin, but then heard about DirtFur. Her fur shuddered.

"ShadowHeart, DirtFur... He isn't in ShadowClan anymore. SpottedStar exiled him, and he's a prisoner in ThunderClan. Don't you know that?" she asked, looking down at her paws.

"Now, looking at your kits...? I don't know about that..." she looked over at her, and gave a sly smile, "I wish I could help. Why not try to see if you can come back in ShadowClan? I bet most of us miss you, too."

"Not surprised. If I was still in ShadowClan I would have been stupidly padding off behind him like a lost puppy..." When she heard she should re-join Shadow didn't know what to say, "They probably wouldn't want me, they probably think I left on purpose." She sighed, she was very depressed. "I was thinking about leaving and becoming a wandering loner like I used to be. But I don't know... It is different from last time." as she said this Shadow realized that she had never told anyone in ShadowClan about her life before she had kits... Not about Opal or Travix...

RunningPath sighed, and looked up towards the sky.

"ShadowHeart, I know how it is, to be in love. I know that you want to take even more risks," she looked at Shadow, and gave a soft smile, "Being loved by someone gives you strength, while deeply loving someone else, gives you courage."

She looked down at her paws, and just shrugged.

"Thats the thing, My strength is gone-even if I have the courage." she mewed quietly, her eyes fixed on the ground, a tear falling from her cheek and rolling down her face. Runningpath was one of her best friends, but Shadow doubted she understood.

Leafheart also being one of SHadowheart's closest friends found herself drawn to this mound of trash. She Growled and nagged when she got sticky goop stuck in her toes but she pressed on. She came in right in the middle of the she-cat's conversation, and she knew how Shadowheart felt. "Shadowheart if he can not see how amazing you are instead of a kit then it is time for you to move on and get back home to your kits and us.", she smiled licking her friend warmly.

RunningPath gave a curt nod, nudging ShadowHeart gently. She smiled at her, feeling rather relieved that LeafHeart came. If she didn't, she probably wouldn't be able to say comforting words.

"It's true," she purred, "Come back, DirtFur won't hurt you no more. And believe me, you will find the right one soon."

Shadowheart nodded, her pelt brushed Runningpath's as she bounded towards the ShadowClan camp. "Well then, we'd better be getting back..." she purred, smiling softly. "Are you going to come?" she smiled and raced home.
