Are we... Kin? {Crow}

RunningPath was out alone, doing some practice with her hunting skills. She saw a frog, so she got in a hunter's crouch. Her black ears swervered around, her tail not swishing at all.

She slowly placed one paw infront of the other, her blue-green gaze staring at the green-brown hoppy thing.

She was about to jump when...

The frog noticed, and quickly hopped away with a croak.

She got up, and hissed with anger.

"Who goes there?!"

He hissed in annoyance as the branch snapped under his paw. He'd been after some prey when he found other cat's eyes on it as well. Crow had been trying to slowly sliver out of the area without anything showing his presence. He was on a clan's territory and he didn't want to get caught.

Crow's eyes got round as the she-cat yowled for him to come out. With better judgement, he went out in full view, but held his ground. His fur prickled though. Hopefully this cat wouldn't kill him or eat his bones like the stupid Kittypets said. "U-um, I do," he answered meekly.

She turned around, to face him. It almost looked like she was seeing a reflection of herself, but she pushed that thought away quickly.

Her eyes narrowed, tail lashing back and forth. She sniffed the air, and it was rather disgusting. He reeked of Kittypet.

Her lips curled back in a snarl, noticing a little bit of fear-scent, but she ignored it, for any cat could be dangerous, scared or not.

"Kittypet, eh?"

Was all she could say before letting out a laugh.

The she-cat looked almost exactly like him, now that he got a clear look at her. It amazed him, but of course a lot of cats could look the same, right? Her reply made his fur ruffle.

"I'm not a kittypet, I'm a loner!," he mewed in defiance and puffed out his chest.

She snorted, and gave another sniff.

"Smells like kittypet to me!"

They even had somewhat the same attitude, and now that she thought of it, he smelled familar.

She suddenly took another step, and sniffed his pelt once more, then took a step back, and shook her head.

He lashed his tail at her as she snorted. Fine if she doesn't believe me. Stupid clan cat thinks she's all that... Then she suddenly got very close and sniffed. He took a step back and his fur bristled. "I'm not prey you know!," he mewed angerly. This cat was getting on his nerves just a bit. There was something though. Smelling his pelt then her scent, he noticed a little resembalance now. "Dang it, now look. You've got your clan stink all over me."

She sat down, and eye'd him curiously.

"You smell familar."

She murmured, blinking once more. She was trying to figure it out, until something popped up: We might just be kin!

She bristled her fur at the thought, not even thinking it was possible! Being kin with a kittypet!

"It doesn't work like that, you know! Just if I tap you, or sniff you, doesn't mean it gets on you!"

He snorted at her response. Sitting down defensivly, he began to lick himself vigoursly. Crow didn't like to smell like a clan cat, ever! Quickly looking at the she-cat more closely, his spine tingled. She looked exactly like him and if her scent hadn't gotten on him maybe they were.....

"Who are you by the way?," he sniffed. And why do you look like me.

Her ears flickered, blinking slowly.

"Names RunningPath."

She sniffed again, still seeing a pang of similarity. She didn't understand it, but they do look alike as well.

Maybe they were kin, and she hated that sense, she hated that thought.

He stopped licking and cocked his head. "That's a wierd name, but you have a right to have it. Mine's Crow!," he said, looking at the she-cat proudly. A question kept hitting him though, who was she, not her name. Who are you to look like me? I'm the original Crow and I need no copycats!, he thought with dismay.

She wrinkled her nose with disgust, and snorted a bit.

"Crow? I wonder why! Don't act like one, nor look like one. You look like me too, and I want to know why!"

She narrowed her eyes a bit, tail swishing about.

His eyes narrowed as she snorted and wrinkled her nose in disgust at his name. "Well yours doesn't fit you that well either.

What does Runningpath have to do with your looks, clan cat," he sniffed.

"Your question though, I've no idea and want to know the same reason!," he mewed.

She glared her eyes.

"The reason why I was named 'RunningKit' to begin with, is because I ran alot when I was little. The path part I don't know why, and it isn't any of your buisness!"

Then her fur prickled once more.

"I sure hope it doesn't mean we are kin!"

He eyed her cooly as she explained her name. She was right about the last part, no sense at all....

"You think were kin?! How could you think that?"

A thought came into his mind at what she said last. "Do you think the 'path' part means a path leading somewhere? Like a two-leg path?......Ignore me," he stumbled.

"That would make sense, but you know, how would they know?"

She murmured, looking away. She just couldn't stop thinking that they could be kin.

"We probably are.. We look alike, and smell alike!"

She hissed.
